clavierclavier is a program for the X window system that emits MIDI note-on/note-off messages when you press the keys of a on-screen piano keyboard with the mouse. You can also use your computer keyboard, like in a tracker program. DownloadIt requires ScreenshotsPlease send me a screenshot if you have clavier running. Life is too short to run X on a Pentium 90 with 32MB RAM. -- Update: it depends what apps you run -- X runs fine on a 486 with 16MB RAM if you run only xterm's and max two windows of netscape.

SimonKågedal, SimonsContactInformation DiscussionFeel free to share your thoughts on clavier. - Would you think it's possible to easily compile clavier for windows, or are you familiar with any free software that does the same job, for windows? --Jon No, and no... sorry. --Simon - I've edited the ~/.noteinput to suit my french keyboards. However keys holding latin characters cannot be mapped, for example keys with letters like é, ā or į can not be associated with notes, nothing happen when they are pressed. So it's not possible to get exactly the same mapping as with a qwerty keyboard. -- al at alpage dot org Oh, hmm. Unfortunately I do not even run Linux at the time (shame) so I can't fix that. But feel free to upload your file (Upload new attachment "french.noteinput") --Simon |
